so they have included two more of my paintings in the show.

("Rough Rider" was able to go to it's collector after June 30th),

J.M.Steele - In Fine Form: Figures By Four - Museum Show

"In Fine Form: Figures By Four"

Four Oregon coast artists, wanting the ultimate painting challenge depicting the figure, have used live models from which to design, draw, and paint from life for several years. While they have successfully submitted their work to regional, state, and national shows, the final satisfaction has been getting together to have fun. This exhibition is a collaboration of their works, with fresh, lively brushwork and colors that breathe life into paintings executed in watercolor, acrylic, and oil.

I'm so excited to be a part of this show being held at the Coos Art Museum,

The four of us are all Gold Beach, Oregon artists and have painted together for many years and each with very different styles and mediums.
We've had a lot of fun over those years getting together and painting the figure from 'life', so it is a very satisfying feeling to see this collaboration of our work at CAM.

Expressions West 2012, In Fine Form: Figures by Four, Douglas Russell - One Person Exhibition, and Photographic Synthesis, are four exhibitions this Spring at the Coos Art Museum.

I'm very excited to be having a Figure show with my 3 fellow artists, In Fine Form: Figures by Four, during the opening of Expressions West 2012.   The opening was well attended.

In attendance, Susan Lehman, (who helped spearhead our show) and Steven Broocks, the Museum Director.

Along with friends and Museum assistants Carla, and Archi Davenport, Administrative Assistant.
My good friend and fellow painter Tammy Delaney received an award that night in the Expressions West Show.

Tammy Delaney received the Entry of Merit award for her Oil landscape "Meander", standing with the Judge Dougas Russell.
And my fellow figure painter Alexandra Eyer was also in the Expressions West show.
