Steele & Steele Painting in Expressions West 2013 Coos Art Museum Exhibition

 

Expressions West 2013 at the Coos Art Museum is a Regional Western Exhibition with artists chosen from over 8 states. Opening night was Friday May 31st from 5-7 pm. and the show will run from May 31- July 27, 2013.
Tod & I were very pleased to have one of our collaborative animal paintings juried into the show.

John Hewitt was the juror and awards judge. Hewitt is a signature member of many prestigious watercolor societies including the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, Watercolor West and the Kentucky Watercolor Society. He has studied with master painters Vernon Nye, George Post  and Millard Sheets. Hewitt has taught at the College of the Redwoods and Pacific Union College as well as numerous workshops on the West Coast and in Europe.

The Oil Painters of America unveils the 22nd annual National Juried Exhibition of Traditional Oils, at the InSight Gallery in Fredericksburg, TX. May 18 - June 17, 2013

Every year the OPA strives to present the best in representational art based on draftsmanship, color, and composition with diverse subject matter and styles.

Laura Rintala, the managing editor, wrote a wonderful article and included profiles of the OPA artists, mine is on page 43, and see "Don't Mess With Mama!" on page 49.

Empire Ranch '100' Show 2013 Steele & Steele Art Work

 

The Empire 100 Western Art Show & Sale began 13 years ago to raise funds for the preservation of the historic Empire Ranch Headquarters. With great appreciation to our sponsor, Northern Trust, this juried art exhibition & sale has grown in stature to also become a premiere art show, featuring established and emerging artists specializing in Western art. Chaired by Laura Davis, the art show is named "Empire 100" to reflect the number of pieces selected for the show.

Tod & I are thrilled to have 2 of our paintings accepted into the 13th Annual Empire 100 Western Art Show this year.  These are the Steele & Steele collaborative paintings in the show.  The Exhibit runs from Jan.14- Feb.28, 2013
